A real-life royal drama reportedly took place last Christmas involving Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker-Bowles, according to a tabloid story.

Sources told the Star that Kate wanted to take advantage of the backlash against Prince Charles and Camilla as their affair has been retold in the latest season of The Crown on Netflix. The Duchess of Cambridge will apparently "stop at nothing", including bypassing Charles and Camilla, so she and Prince William would be the next King and Queen of England.

The report went on to reveal that Kate and Camilla argued during their Christmas dinner, which left the Duchess of Cambridge in tears. Queen Elizabeth allegedly became "very angry" about the "holiday from hell."

However, Gossip Cop debunked Star's story by citing that a Christmas dinner never took place among the members of the royal family. They've been in quarantine in their own homes and celebrated the holidays separately.

The news outlet also cited that Kate and Camilla have no reason to fight as it is constitutionally impossible for William and Kate to bypass the older royals in the line of succession. Clarence House has also officially clarified that Camilla will be the Princess Consort, and not the Queen Consort when the right time comes.

In November, the tabloids also claimed that Charles has been pushed aside in favor of William, leading Camilla to be livid and displeased with her stepson and daughter-in-law. According to New Idea, Camilla is "terrified" of the thought of being bypassed and demoted as the second-highest ranking female in the royal family.

Sources said that the Duchess of Cornwall has been asking her husband to intervene. She feels that Kate has become her biggest threat, especially after the Cambridges successfully carried out their royal duties during the pandemic.

However, in June 2020, Kate and Camilla participated in a joint royal engagement to mark Children's Hospice Week in the United Kingdom. Clarence House released the videos and the official press release, where the duo conducted virtual calls with representatives of the Children's Hospice South West, the Helen & Douglas House and the East Anglia Children's Hospices.

Camilla has been the patron of the children's hospice centers since 2007, while Kate also became a patron a year after she became William's wife. Both royal women said that working with the people at the hospice centers is inspiring and they have come across the most wonderful and extraordinary children at these facilities.

Despite Kate and Camilla getting along, the tabloids continue to publish stories about their alleged feud.
