Prince William and Prince Harry were barely speaking to each other one year ago after the Sussexes announced their royal exit. But the brothers' relationship has been "much better" since Harry and Meghan decided to build their life together in the United States, leaving William and the royal family behind.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl said that William and Harry have been talking to each other quite regularly, especially over the Christmas holidays. Nicholl further said that things have "greatly improved" between the sons of Prince Charles despite living oceans apart from each other.

One year ago, William was angry, frustrated and disappointed at how Harry handled his departure from The Firm that he did not join the lunch in Sandringham with the Queen, Prince Charles and Harry. Despite being on different paths today, Nicholl said that the brothers are working hard at their reconciliation.

Harry is also in touch with Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth through video calls. The royal family has been keeping tabs of Archie's development and progress even if it's only in the virtual platform and the Queen knows what's happening to the Sussexes in the U.S. because they discuss their plans with the monarch.

Nicholl's statements compound the report of Us Weekly, which cited insiders who said that the royal brothers are now talking to each other. The sources also said that there has been "a lot of rejoicing" within the family following their "very ugly and incredibly intense" feud.

The insiders also revealed that William and Harry look forward to their face-to-face reconciliation but that might have to wait because of the pandemic. However, William and Kate Middleton may fly to California for a royal engagement sometime in the year and they plan to have a stopover at Harry and Meghan's home in California.

However, royal author Phil Dampier has sources who claim that the brother's rift isn't actually a lot better. Despite what has been said, Dampier's sources revealed that William and Harry haven't been talking to each other at all.

Dampier also said that William and Harry will potentially reunite in-person in July for the unveiling of the statue of Princess Diana in Kensington Palace or in June for the 100th birthday of Prince Philip. The royal expert said that the brothers will do their best to "put on a united front" for the public but it will still be a very awkward situation, especially with their wives in tow.
