There is little doubt that fans see Tom Holland as an adorable teenager who just happens to have amazing superpowers. After all, that's the character he plays in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the Spider-Man 3 star is showing off a completely different side of himself in the first trailer for the upcoming Apple TV+ film Cherry.

Although Tom Holland is still considered a young actor, he already has a career filled with amazing roles. Nevertheless, most people still see him as the adorably awkward teenage Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Interestingly, Holland's most recent project, which is the Russo Brothers-directed Cherry, will remind fans that the actor can take on mature roles and this is confirmed in the movie's first trailer.

The trailer for Cherry opens with a hand placing a dollar on the table. A closer look at the bill reveals the note, "I have a gun" and when it is flipped over, the note says, "This is a robbery." It is then revealed that the hand belongs to Tom Holland's character who says, "I am 23 years old and sometimes I wonder if life is wasted on me."

It's a dark opening for Cherry and it is later revealed that the unnamed young man started out just like everyone. He's in love with a girl and although things appear to be going well, he later enlists in the Army. From there, things get crazier and scarier for the viewers and Tom Holland's character.

So what exactly made a nice young man go from a promising soldier to an addict robbing banks for drug money? The truth will be revealed when Cherry finally premieres next month.

There is little doubt that Cherry is very different from Tom Holland's other roles in the past. However, it looks like the Russo Brothers have given him a part that will show off his amazing talent. Needless to say, Cherry is a film to truly look forward to.

The synopsis for Cherry reads as follows. "In an epic odyssey of romance, war, drug addiction, and crime, a young man (Tom Holland) struggles to find his place in the world. Directed by the Russo Brothers. In theaters on February 26 and exclusively on Apple TV+ March 12."

Cherry also stars Ciara Bravo. The film will premiere in selected theaters on February 26 and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting March 12.
