Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara) will further take their relationship to the next level in The Good Doctor season 4 episode 8. They're going to meet the latter's parents, which is another milestone for them. But, there's no guarantee that things go according to their plan.

The Good Doctor season 4 episode 8 is titled "Parenting." It will see Shaun meeting Lea's mother and father for the first time. The two have been making significant steps in their relationship, and this is the biggest one so far. However, there's still a concern for both of them.

For Shaun, he always wants to do the right thing, so he'll come prepared for this particular occasion. He wants to leave a good impression on Lea's parents. He loves his girlfriend so much and sees a future with her. He'll do everything that he can in order to be part of the same family.

But then, there is a possibility that something will happen, and it could complicate the situation. Shaun tends to be straightforward with his words, and he could say something in the wrong way. His first meeting with Lea's parents might be awkward because of this.

Also, The Good Doctor season 4 episode 8 may see Shaun still be dealing with his girlfriend's revelation about her ex-husband. Lea revealed that she got married right out of high school, but they both realized that it was a mistake and ended it quickly.

Lea told Shaun that she never talked about her ex-husband since she hasn't thought about him over the past years. She said that this person is no longer important to her life, yet it looks like Shaun is affected by this. They were able to settle the discussion, but it caused a huge impact on him.

Beyond Shaun and Lea's storyline, The Good Doctor season 4 episode 8 will feature another medical case of the week. As per the synopsis, the team will treat a teenage gymnast. She experienced complications due to her extensive training.

In addition, Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) continues to deal with her PTSD. She had a breakdown in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic at St Bonaventure hospital. This will be further tackled in next week's episode and what's coming for her moving forward.

The Good Doctor season 4 episode 8 airs on Monday, Jan. 25, on ABC.
