Kyoto Animation finally announced the much-awaited release of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Season 2. Fans have been waiting to see the new season's coming since the first season aired and became a hit in 2017.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Season 2 will be officially called Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S, which stands for "Super Supreme Second life Starts." Now that some major details about the second season drops, fans celebrate the fact that they get to know what will happen next.

According to Monsters & Critics, the news about the anime's second installment has been long coming. The manga first announced the anime's production back in February 2019.

However, it took more than a year before a new update about the series came. In August 2020, there were reports Kyoto Animation returned as the second season's animation studio.

The lack of news might have something to do with the untimely death of the anime director Yasuhiro Takemoto. In a tweet by kViN of Sakuga Blog, he said the coming of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Season 2 was supposed to be officially announced at the 2019 KyoAni stage event in November 2019.

At the time, there's a high hope for the studio to continue the anime despite Takemoto's demise. Fortunately, the anime continued, breathing a new life to the late director's work.

Now, the second season's coming is confirmed, along with a new key visual. By the looks of it, the anime's production is now in full swing.

Kyoto Animation first confirmed Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Season 2's release sometime in 2021. Now, the new episodes are said to be part of the summer anime releases, Comicbook noted.

On the other hand, the new visual gives a glimpse of the new character coming to the series. It will introduce fans to Iruru, who is part of Coolkyoushinja's original manga version.

Sadly, this character didn't make it to be part of the first season, but fans would soon see her in full glory. Siliconera added the image also showed the dragon maid herself, Tohru and Kobayashi and Kanna, who are both dangling on the initial's horns.

Fans will soon see these four characters in Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Season 2 when it drops in July this year. Anyhow, Kyoto Animation has yet to announce its official release date, so viewers still have to wait for its official announcement.
