Prodigal Son season 2 episode 3 is diving deeper into Malcolm Bright's (Tom Payne) past. His life was addressed several times already, but there's still some part of it that must be further explored. This includes his life while he was still in school and how he was as a student.

The title of Prodigal Son season 2 episode 3 is "Alma Mater," which is a clear reference to Bright's education. This part of his past wasn't entirely similar to other students, given that he witnessed a lot of gruesome events during his younger years.

Bright was forced to visit his Alma mater when the school's headmaster was found murdered. Now, the biggest challenge for him is that he needs to face a troubling secret from his past. There could be a huge revelation that could further shake up the story.

Aside from that, chaos is coming in Prodigal Son season 2 episode 3 now that Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen) and Friar Pete (Christian Borle) grow closer together. These two are considered notorious killers, and they could team up to cause problems to everyone.

Prodigal Son season 2 episode 3 will also see Jessica Whitly (Bellamy Young) struggling to find a way on how to end things with Gil Arroyo (Lou Diamond Phillips). On the other hand, JT Tarmel (Frank Harts) is anticipating the arrival of his baby.

JT has gone through a lot in the early run of the season. He became the target of police brutality when one of his fellow officers attacked him. He was assaulted and currently recovering from the trauma. His colleagues encouraged him to file a complaint against the officer, but he's hesitant to do it.

While still dealing with his personal issue, he and Bright take on a murder case. A priest was murdered inside the church, and the killer left a message written in blood: Abbadon, the devil. This is where the team asked for Friar Pete's help.

Later on, Malcolm and the team were able to track down the suspect named Norman. It is believed that this person was possessed. The episode ended with Malcolm visiting Martin, and he confessed to his father that he feels guilty for covering up his sister's, Ainsley Whitly (Halston Sage), crime.

Prodigal Son season 2 episode 3 airs on Tuesday, Jan. 26, on Fox.
