There is little doubt that Thor: Love and Thunder will be a huge film. After all, the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel will be one of the first movies to take place after the events in Avengers: Endgame. In addition to that, the upcoming MCU flick could feature a major crossover with the Guardians of the Galaxy now that Karen Gillan has confirmed she is preparing to work on Thor 4.
Karen Gillan recently did a Q&A on Instagram Live where she answered several fan questions. One fan had asked if she was wearing a wig because her hair appeared to be much shorter. Interestingly, Gillan confirmed that she had cut her hair so it would be easier to fit under the bald cap she wears when she plays Nebula.
But why is Karen Gillan already preparing to transform into Nebula once again? Fans were quick to note that it's too early to begin filming for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 since director James Gunn is still working on the Suicide Squad spin-off show Peacemaker. This could only mean that Gillan is actually getting ready to shoot for Thor: Love and Thunder, which is the only Marvel Cinematic Universe flick currently in production.
Thor: Love and Thunder started filming earlier in January, and the cast has been flying to Australia ahead of production start. Although the main cast, which includes Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Christian Bale, are already in Australia, it looks like there will be more Marvel Cinematic Universe stars joining them in the film.
It was previously confirmed that Chris Pratt would reprise his role as Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, in Thor: Love and Thunder. However, he isn't the only Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 actor who is expected to appear in the movie. Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, and Vin Diesel are also set to return as Drax, Mantis, and Groot, respectively. So it shouldn't be a huge surprise that Karen Gillan's Nebula will be joining them as well.

For now, it is unclear whether the Guardians of the Galaxy will play a major role in the fourth Thor movie or if they will only appear in a cameo. Either way, fans are delighted to know that Thor: Love and Thunder will feature a major Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover next year.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently in production. The film will premiere on May 6, 2022.
