Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2 is now in the works, and fans are now looking forward to the return of Mami Nanami, Ruka Sarashina, Sumi Sakurasawa, and Mini Yaemori on the small screen. With the recent nominations that it got from Anime Award, the second installment will surely be a must-see.

There are a lot of things fans are about to see in Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2. As one of the best rom-coms the anime world has, it will continue to have a solid plot featuring the best of characters.

Once again, viewers are about to see Mami, the villain they love to hate, Spoiler Guy noted. She's probably one of the most hated characters in the shonen anime history, and the hatred will continuously grow in the second season forward.

As the manga now has 18 volumes, fans can expect the anime to continuously adapt its source material. There will be more awkward interactions between Chizuru and Kazuya, considering they both know that they have feelings for each other.

Kazuya is already acknowledging what Chizuru is feeling toward him, making it like an open book. In Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2, fans are going to see more character developments involving him.

Surely, the second season will start with a bang with its funny but romantic storyline. It will continuously feature great humor that will comfort the fans.

There may be more screen time for Sumi after winning everyone's hearts with her soft voice and charm. When she said, "See you later, Kazuya," fans look forward to seeing her once again.

As proof of everyone's love for the series' character, it received two nominations from Anime Award, and its creator, Reiji Miyahima, thanked everyone for it. Chizuru gets a nomination for Best Girl while she and Kazuya are also nominated for Best Couple.

He said, via Crunchyroll, he's very honored that Rent-a-Girlfriend received nominations in two categories. Miyahima believed the accolades are befitting for his characters, saying Chizuru is an "ideal girlfriend," while her good relationship with Kazuya is what makes them the "ideal couple" that "resonated with the people around the world."

The writer then admitted the honor made him very happy and hoped that his kids would continue "to make great strides." Rent-a-Girlfriend started its serialization in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Jump in 2017, per AniTrendz.

Its first season aired in the summer of 2020 season and instantly became a big hit. So, all eyes are now on Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2, although its official release date is yet to be revealed. Anyhow, it's expected to drop this year.
