Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist season 2 episode 5 is going to be a different one for Zoey Clarke's (Jane Levy) storyline. Next week's episode is titled "Zoey's Extraordinary Trip," and it will explore the rebellious side of the titular character, as well as some parts of her past.
According to the synopsis of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist season 2 episode 5, Zoey comes up with a decision about her life. She decided to explore her rebellious side, and she's going on a journey with Aiden (Felix Mallard), her neighbor from growing up.
It will explore how and why Zoey became the person that she is now. Given that she's connecting with her past, there could be revelations coming in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist season 2 episode 5. At the moment, she's still in the grieving process, and exploring her rebellious side is new for her.
Since she's visiting a part of her life in the past, fans will see some untold stories of her. This is a chance to learn more about her and what her life was when she still hasn't had the ability to hear people's songs in the heart. It could also include other parts of her life outside her family.
Aiden knows Zoey that other characters don't. The two had a history since they grew up together, and their relationship will be fleshed out. Also, some preview photos teased that there's a musical number in the middle of a residential neighborhood -- perhaps where Zoey and her family used to live.
Elsewhere in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist season 2 episode 5, Max (Skylar Astin) was surprised when his father (plays by Chip Zien) visits him. Bringing his father onboard means that there is a significant story for him -- which could include his past, as well.
Only a few things were known about Max, given that his storyline wasn't often put in the spotlight. He's a longtime work friend of Zoey, and their relationship became more romantic, eventually. Yet, it's clear that there's more to his personal life beyond being the titular's character love interest.
Meanwhile, the musical comedy-drama is going on hiatus after episode 6. One of the reasons for the break is because NBC is making room for shows by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Young Rock and Kenan Thompson's Kenan. The Jane Levy-led series will, then, return in spring.
