Christopher Hermann (David Eigenberg) and Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) were both in danger in the upcoming Chicago Fire season 9 episode 5. The two have been trying to save others who desperately need their help. But then, they ended up being the ones who need to be rescued in the process.

Chicago Fire season 9 episode 5 comes with the title "My Lucky Day" and it will center on what's about to happen to Hermann and Cruz. As the synopsis notes, Firehouse 51 is called, and they responded to a dangerous fire blazing at a 10-story storage building.

Hermann and Cruz were doing whatever they can to rescue those who are inside the building. However, in an unexpected turn of events, they were trapped inside a freight elevator. The situation gets even worse when they couldn't communicate with the team as their lines were cut off.

It has been already teased that both Hermann and Cruz will be facing danger in the current installment. Speaking to CarterMatt, showrunner Derek Haas teased that there is an episode dedicated for Eigenberg and Minoso -- which is Chicago Fire season 9 episode 5.

This will be a significant episode for the two, as they try to fight for their life. Hermann and Cruz were both dedicated to doing their job, even if there's a huge cost along the way. Yet, even though they're in grave danger, the people on the other side will rescue them.

The Firehouse 51 won't stop until they save Hermann and Cruz, as well as others, in Chicago Fire season 9 episode 5. They've already formed a close bond in the department, and they are willing to help when some of the team members face a life-or-death situation. This particular moment could leave a huge impact on them, and they may realize certain things.

After this, the next episode will focus on Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo). In "Blow This Up Somehow," the relationship between the two will be tested -- especially after the latter's promotion. It seems like their issue rooted from here.

There'll be discussions and heated arguments, which could further strain their relationship. Severide and Kidd have been on-and-off together since the previous season. Now that a new challenge comes in their way, they may decide that they need another break again.

Chicago Fire season 9 episode 5 airs on Wednesday, Feb. 3, on NBC.
