Kaguya-Sama fans will get a sweet treat from the anime series as it will drop three new OVAs ahead of Kaguya-Sama Season 3's coming. In a Twitter post, the franchise announced the videos' arrival, along with its release date, plots, and other details.
It looks like the anime's staff and crew are now preparing for Kaguya-Sama Season 3. With the release of the new OVAs, it only means that a new season will follow.
In the tweet's English translation, via Epic Dope, the OVAs are said to be about a story that begins in things that "go in unexpected directions." With the success of both the manga and anime, the whole volume has been reprinted and exceeded 14 million copies.
The newest 21 volumes will be out on February 19, while limited edition 22 volumes will come real soon, and reservation has now started. Volume 22 will also come with a DVD bundle of the OVAs.
The first one is Kaguya-Sama Volume 1, and it will be about swimsuits. The Twitter post shows Miyuki and Ishagami talking about a magazine, featuring many women in their swimsuit attire.
The second volume will be about a book that Ishigami and Miyuki found with questionable content. The third one, lastly, will be Kaguya-Sama: Wants Him To Eat, which will feature a fried rice-making competition.
Aside from this, Kaguya-Sama Season 3 is also about to come. According to TV Season Spoilers, the show received a renewal in October 2020 during the Kaguya-Sama: Wants to Tell You on Stage.
It was also the time that the makers announced the coming of the OVAs. The anime creators have more than 100 chapters to choose from to adapt a new plotline for the third season.
However, fans expect that Kaguya-Sama Season 3 will feature a new love that will brew in the student council. But as love seems hard to attain in this series, there will be a lot of twists and turns before it may happen.
Anyhow, viewers can be assured that it will continue the events the previous season left off. Hence, Kaguya may finally confess her feelings toward Miyuki this time.
The anime debuted in January 2019 with 12 episodes, and it received an instant success, per Anime News Network. The second season then dropped in April 2020 and ended in June of the same year.
Now, all eyes are on Kaguya-Sama Season 3. However, the makers have yet to announce its official release date, but the new OVAs will be released on May 19.
