Those Snow Whites Notes is a coming-of-age anime that tells the story of Yuna and Setsu. Originally a manga series by Marimo Ragawa, these two will try their best to achieve their dreams amid the unforgiving city of Tokyo.
The trailer gives fans a glimpse of Setsu, who loves to play Shamisen, a three-stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument. He's with a group of friends to whom he shares the same passion of playing the same thing, Epic Dope noted.
Aside from showing the inspiring story of Setsu, the show will also feature the importance of the tradition of playing Shamisen. It will also take fans to the past when people are still fond of traditional music.
On the other hand, its visual introduces fans to Setsu and Seiryu, a very talented Shamisen player. He has won the Tsugaru National Tournament for two consecutive years, and from here, a musical story will begin.
Anime News Network also revealed Those Snow Whites Notes cast members and the roles they're about to play. Beginning with Yuichiro Umehara, he will portray the character of Seiryu.
Next is Tasuku Hatanaka, who will play as Soichi, Shiori Mikami as Mai, and Rikako Aida as Yuna. Other previously announced cast members are Nobunaga as Setsu, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Wakan, Yume Miyamoto as Shuri, Reina Kondo as Yui, Nobuhiko as Kaito, and Tatsushisa Suzuki as Rai.
In addition, Burnout Syndrome will sing the anime's two opening theme songs, "Blizzard" and "Ginsekai (Silver World)." The ending theme song, "Kono Yume ga Sameru Made (Until I Wake from Dreaming)," alternatively, will be played by Miriya Katou and Yoshida Brothers.
In Those Snow White Notes' official synopsis, via AniTrendz, reveals everything will begin with the death of Setsu's grandfather. Since then, he has lost what's called "Setsu's sound," which is his "unique creative spark."
As he continuously grieves, he goes to Tokyo to move on and find himself. However, just on the first day, he's literally and figuratively lost.
He then meets Yuna, aka Yuka, the hostess, who saves him from being robbed. Despite having opposite lives, they're both working hard to reach their dreams.
Yuna wants to be an actress, while Setsu strives to be a great Shamisen player. Amid the raucous life in Tokyo, this city helps bring them together.
Those Snow White Notes is set to be out on Friday, April 2, at 2:25 a.m. Japan Standard Time on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS' Animeism.
