American Horror Story season 10 has been dropping a lot of details ahead of its premiere on FX. The anthology horror series is, particularly, sharing casting news. For instance, a familiar name is coming back and will join the rest of the cast moving forward.
Executive producer Ryan Murphy confirmed that Frances Conroy is returning in American Horror Story season 10. He responded to a fan account on Instagram, where he officially made the confirmation. He said that their "beloved Frannie" is coming back in the next installment.
Conroy last appeared in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, where she played the role of Myrtle Snow/Moira O'Hara. She, then, stepped back in the previous season, American Horror Story: 1984. For now, her role in the upcoming installment remains unknown.
Conroy joins other returning AHS veterans: Sarah Paulson, Angelica Ross, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, Kathy Bates, Finn Wittrock, and Lily Rabe. Also, Macaulay Culkin is going to be the latest addition to the anthology horror.
Meanwhile, American Horror Story season 10 may focus on a beach theme as previous teases often incorporate the sea as the background. There have been speculations that the storyline could revolve around eerie deep-sea creatures or killer mermaids.
Also, Murphy shared numerous photos on his Instagram, which often feature unknown sea creatures. For instance, he posted a picture of a creature with shark-like teeth, as well as two hands coming out of the water. When the official set of the cast was confirmed, he shared a clip with an ocean background.
Paulson, on the other hand, teased her role in the upcoming installment. She said that she has "the elements of a few different people" rolled into her character. The actress noted that she's going to have different hair colors, which she never had on the show and even in real life.
American Horror Story season 10 is currently in production. The filming schedule of the series was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The good news is that the cast and crew went back to work in the first week of December in 2020.
At the time, Rabe told Digital Spy that there were all delighted to go back to work following the long hiatus. The original plan was to begin filming in October 2020, but the schedule wasn't followed. The actress didn't reveal what's coming in the story, but she promised it is "going to be great."
American Horror Story season 10 is slated to arrive at some point in 2021.
