TWICE has found its place in the middle of a controversy after designer Kim Balko seemingly called JYP Entertainment out. This came after members Dahyun and Chaeyoung dropped a parody music video of "Switch To Me," wearing a similar hanbok design as what BLACKPINK's Jisoo wore for "How You Like That."

Although the parent company eventually released an official apology, netizens, especially ONCEs, did not find the statement "thrilling." This resulted in many of them slamming the label, causing TWICE-related hashtags to trend, according to Koreaboo.

Several fans and followers voiced out their disappointments on Twitter, noting that the members of the all-female K-pop group deserve "better treatment." Hashtags, like "Free TWICE" and "JYPE Out" became apparent on the platform amid the commotion.

As the debacle continues to develop, the same publication said that many ONCEs, later on, shared their praise and adoration for the K-pop celebrities. Many of them even "rallied" behind Dahyun and Chaeyoung as they are at the center of the controversies.

The outlet emphasized, however, that this is not the first time JYP Entertainment faced criticisms on various social media platforms. Earlier this year, the label obtained negative comments and reactions from iGOT7s following the K-pop group's exit from the company.

As claimed, JYP has always "neglected" the all-male K-pop group, adding that they never did anything to promote the band's previous releases. Not too long after the whole controversy, the septet officially left the label for good to embark on new ventures.

AllKpop released a copy of JYP Entertainment's public apology on Thursday. It stated that the hanbok piece, which TWICE's Dahyun wore, "was purchased through a hanbok distributor."

But, despite this, the label explained that they were not able to "properly recognize its similarity to others' work." Accordingly, they would like to "sincerely apologize for the mistake."

The statement continued that the company has already "offered thorough explanation" to the designer of the hanbok. In the end, JYP noted that they will "take greater care to ensure" that this will not happen again in the future.

The same outlet, later on, reported that the original hanbok piece, which Jisoo wore for "How You Like That," has revolutionized the fashion industry in South Korea. With the official music video of BLACKPINK, many, reportedly, believed that this paved way and marked the beginning "in the usage of modernized hanbok" pieces in the K-pop industry.
