Fans may now feel much closer to Descendants of the Sun actor Song Joong Ki as he just joined social media. The 35-year-old celebrity opened his first Instagram account on Valentine's Day.

It has seemingly become a sweet Valentine treat for many of his supporters as he has since remained active on the platform by posting images. Koreaboo reported that upon making his own page, he immediately shared a "serene photo" of himself. He used three emojis, a cloud, a tree, and a smartphone, to relay his greetings to the world of social media.

In the span of three days, the actor has already released five photos. While he only uses emojis to caption each of the images, he has since amassed nearly 800,000 followers and millions of likes in total.

Song Joong Ki previously revealed that he did not have social media accounts because of his limited knowledge of technology. But, reports speculated that the pandemic lockdown has seemingly "helped" him to become a bit more tech-savvy.

The South Korean's arrival on Instagram comes after the massive success he received for his recently released Netflix film, Space Sweepers. The highly anticipated movie stars several other prominent personalities, as well, including Yoo Hae Jin, Kim Tae Ri, and Richard Armitage.

Amid the increasing number of viewers for the space-related material, Song Joong Ki now, also, prepares for the premiere of his new drama series, VincenzoAsia One reported that the actor attended a media event to promote the show earlier this week.

During the engagement, he explained to the audience as to what initially drew him to his titular role. He shared that he immediately "sympathized" with the plot and script a lot upon receiving it from writer Park Jae-bum.

The K-drama star continued that there are several "bad people in the news" in recent times, adding that the series "contains many contents criticizing society." Moreover, he thinks that the overall dynamic is a "very new genre," and a high-class one.

The upcoming tvN drama will see Song Joong Ki play Vincenzo, who is a lawyer and Mafia consigliere. The premise revolves around his character, who, as a child, was adopted by an Italian family.

Upon his return to Korea following a rift in their organization, he crosses paths with another lawyer, alongside her intern. Jeon Yeo Bin and Taecyeon will play the roles, respectively.

On Tuesday, sources confirmed that Jin Sun Kyu and Lee Hee Joon will join Song Joong Ki in the pilot episode, according to Soompi. It was not revealed, however, what roles they will play in the plot.

Vincenzo will drop on February 20 at 9 in the evening (KST), on tvN. Fans and supporters may, also, stream the episodes on Netflix on the same day.
