Kate Middleton and Prince William were two of the first members of the royal family to "like" the photo Princess Eugenie shared on Instagram of her newborn son with husband Jack Brooksbank.

According to Hello! Kate and William used their official Instagram account, @KensingtonRoyal, to react to Eugenie's happy news. Eugenie's uncle, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, also reacted to the family's photo, as did Queen Elizabeth via the official @RoyalFamily account.

Eugenie posted her family photo on her personal Instagram page and shared the name they chose for their son: August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. The York princess said that they named their baby after his "5x great grandfathers" in both sides of the family.

Royal fans were happy that Eugenie made a fitting tribute to his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, for picking "Philip" as the second name. It comes as Philip has been staying in the hospital for about a week as a precautionary measure. Per royal protocols, Buckingham Palace will not publicly reveal details to his illness.

Royal expert Judi James said that Jack looks "every inch the first-time, besotted dad" as he proudly carried his son for his first public photo. James said that Jack seems more than happy to divide the childcaring responsibilities with his wife as he looked so relax with his son in his arms.

James also said that baby August's first photo was touchingly casual and quite down-to-earth. Both parents also looked like a couple with "no royal formalities" and they are beaming with excitement as new parents.

August is Queen Elizabeth's ninth great-grandchild, after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archie, and the 11th in the line of succession to the British throne, after his mother. The royal family is still expecting two more additions with Harry and Meghan's second baby and Zara and Mike Tindall's third child. As far as the protocols go, all three new babies won't have any royal titles.

Meanwhile, Eugenie's mom finally issued a statement regarding the birth of her first grandson. Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, posted on Twitter that she is delighted to be a grandparent with Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.

The new grandma said that her grandson is "a beautiful blessing" and that she's very proud of Eugenie and Jack. The Duchess of York said that she knows the pair will be wonderful parents.
