Prince Philip continues to receive treatment for a bacterial infection after 10 days at a London hospital. But royal insiders said he was comfortable and had responded well.

According to Daily Express, Buckingham Palace officials will not make public statements about Philip's health because it is a "private medical matter." However, it is important to issue statements to prevent misinformation about the condition of Queen Elizabeth's husband, they said.

The palace said Philip's illness was not related to COVID-19. The 99-year-old was in "high spirits" according to his son, Prince Edward.

Edward said he had talked to his father on the phone and said that Philip was anxious to go home. However, doctors still want Philip to remain in hospital.

Prince William also said his grandfather was OK. Prince Charles visited Philip at the hospital.

Despite Philip's improving condition, the Sydney Morning Herald published an obituary. Links to the obituary have been removed.

Meanwhile, palace sources said the Queen has been "leaning on her loved ones" for strength and support.
