Prince Philip has been regularly in contact with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Archie in California via Zoom but his grandson shared that the Duke of Edinburgh doesn't use the video conferencing platform properly.

During his guest appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Harry shared that his grandfather doesn't press the "leave" button in the Zoom platform after their talks. The Duke of Edinburgh apparently just slams his laptop shut to end the calls, earning a sly smile from Harry as he was telling Corden tidbits about his family.

Harry also said that Philip and the Queen usually see Archie run around the room during their Zoom calls. The Duke of Sussex also said that her grandparents gifted their son with a waffle maker for Christmas because that's what he loves for breakfast.

The rare interview was filmed before Philip was admitted to the hospital because of an infection on Feb. 16. It has been the duke's longest hospital stay and his doctors said that he won't be discharged yet as they will need to further monitor his condition. Prince Edward, Philip's youngest son with Queen Elizabeth, told the public that his father is responding to the treatments and feeling a whole lot better.

However, Buckingham Palace insiders called Harry's interview as "unhelpful" with his grandfather still in the hospital. The 15-minute segment on an entertainment program also "caused a disquiet" in the Palace as it coincided with the release of Queen Elizabeth's important message about getting vaccinated.

Royal biographer Robert Jobson criticized Harry's TV appearance as ill-timed as it could blur out the Queen's plea to the public. Jobson also said that Harry willingly shared facets about his life, while also emphasizing that he wants his life to be private.

Meanwhile, royal commentator Dickie Arbiter speculated that Prince Philip might have personally asked for his eldest son, Prince Charles, to visit him at the hospital so they could talk about the royal family's future. Despite strict hospital restrictions for guests, Charles did come around and stayed for 30 minutes, sparking concerns that something bad has happened to the Duke of Edinburgh.

However, Arbiter said that Philip might have simply laid the ground for his son, who will be the next monarch. The former royal aide thinks that Charles received some words of advice and caution from Philip.

Penny Junor, another royal commentator, has a different take on Charles' visit to Philip. She said that the Prince of Wales might have wanted to talk to his father about Harry as "momentous things" are happening with the royal family.
