The cast of The Crown on Netflix walked away with the four major awards at this year's Golden Globes and a lot of them ended up thanking Prince Harry, who said in a TV appearance that he doesn't have any issues with the show's storyline.

Emma Corrin, who played Princess Diana in the Netflix series, said that she felt "incredibly grateful" to Harry for not rejecting The Crown. The young star, who won the Best Actress plum at the Globes, said that she's glad Harry enjoyed the latest season, as well as acknowledged that it is only a made-up drama series based on real people.

Gillian Anderson also thanked Harry for his opinion about the series. The actress, who bested the other stars in her category as the winner for Outstanding Supporting Actress, said that she's pleased to know Harry understood what they have been doing on the show. Anderson also said that the Duke of Sussex is the best person to judge whether The Crown is fact or fiction since he is part of the royal family.

Josh O'Connor said that it's maddening to think that Harry watched their show. The actor, who won the Best Actor award as Prince Charles, said that he still cannot believe other popular people are into The Crown.

While appearing as a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Harry said that he'd rather watch a clearly fictionalized show like this Netflix series than subscribe to the stories about the royal family in the tabloids that pretend to report facts. His comments have been directed at the British tabloid media which he has sued for printing inaccurate stories about him and Meghan Markle.

During its run, The Crown received a lot of criticisms for its depiction of the marriage between Harry's parents, Charles and Diana, and subsequently, the affair of Charles with Camilla Parker-Bowles. It sparked a debate in the U.K. on whether The Crown crossed the line and if it should carry a disclaimer because some of its viewers might see the show as a factual account of history.

Netflix, however, rejected the calls to issue the disclaimer and said that viewers of The Crown are discerning enough to know that the stories are a work of fiction based on historical events. Despite this Charles and Camilla were subjected to troll attacks on social media for weeks after the series aired.
