WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for the premiere of The Flash season 7. Read at your own risk.

The Flash season 7 episode 2 is going to pick up the massive events that transpired in the premiere. Eva McCulloch a.k.a. The Mirror Master (Efrat Dor) will continue to cause chaos to the Team Flash. The good thing is that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) gained a new skill even though he is losing his speed.

The title of The Flash season 7 episode 2 is "The Speed of Thought," which is a reference to what lies ahead to the titular character. Barry suddenly gains the power of speed thinking and he'll be using this new skill to save his wife, Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton), who's still trapped in the Mirrorverse.

The Team Flash attempted to make an artificial Speed Force for Barry -- but it eventually fails. He was able to get his power back, yet there is a huge twist at the center of it. In the premiere, Nash Wells (Tom Cavanagh) sacrificed his life to ensure that the titular character could take his speed back.

The Council of Wells figured out how to solve the power source problem in the artificial Speed Force. The multiversal particles in Nash are required but an organic receptor is needed -- which means he will have to die to give power to the Speed Force.

Nash initially rejected the idea, but when a bomb threatened the Central City, he decided to sacrifice himself to create a new Speed Force. This shocking twist in the premiere and will continue to play out in The Flash season 7 episode 2.

Barry is thrilled with his new power, but Cisco (Carlos Valdes) does not completely trust it. One of the major reasons why he's hesitant is that new ability tends to come with drawbacks. While speed thinking could be useful, it might still have certain disadvantages.

Elsewhere in The Flash season 7 episode 2, Eva will be facing a shattering truth. This storyline was originally planned for the season 6 finale, but it was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is going to be a major part of the story during the early run of the latest installment.

Eva is determined to make her plan happen and rule the world. She is one of the biggest adversaries Barry has faced, and she's also the one who trapped Iris in the Mirrorverse. Now that the titular character gains new powers, he could potentially take Mirror Master down.

The Flash season 7 episode 2 airs on Tuesday, March 9, on The CW. The episode is directed by Stefan Pleszczynski and written by Gabriel Garza and Jonathan Butler.
