China is again threatening vengeance against the United States should the latter keep interfering in its internal affairs to protect human rights and champion democracy.

The warning was made Sunday by foreign minister Wang Yi, who blasted the Biden administration for continuing to back Taiwan, Hong Kong and Muslim Uighurs in China's Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region.

Wang told the Biden administration to stop "crossing lines and playing with fire" with its support for Taiwan, and for constantly meddling in China's domestic situation. Speaking at the National People's Congress, Wang said there is "no room for compromise or concessions" in Beijing's claim to sovereignty over Taiwan.

"We urge the new administration in the U.S. to fully recognize the high sensitivity of the Taiwan question," according to Wang.

He told the Biden administration to stop "the approach of crossing lines and playing with fire of the previous administration, and properly and cautiously tackle" the issue.

Wang also assailed the U.S. for "willfully interfering in other countries' internal affairs in the name of democracy and human rights."

Turning to American allegations of genocide against the Uighurs, Wang blasted the claim about genocide in Xinjiang as "preposterous."

"It is just a rumor fabricated with ulterior motives and a lie through and through." he said. "It is important that the United States recognizes this as soon as possible," Wang pointed out. "Otherwise, the world will remain far from tranquil."

Wang also criticized the U.S. and its Asian and European allies for their unrelenting opposition to China's maritime claims, especially over the South China Sea that China claims to own based on its discredited nine-dash line map.

"The U.S. and other Western countries frequently stir up troubles in the region, trying to drive a wedge using the South China Sea issue," said Wang.

"They have only one purpose: to sabotage peace and disturb regional stability."

Wang cited China's travails during the administration of former president Donald Trump. He said China had to contend with Trump's "hegemony, high-handedness and bullying" and "outright interference in China's domestic affairs."

China is placing the onus on the Biden administration to repair the damage to bilateral ties inflicted by Trump. The Biden administration, however, is placing far more importance on China's human rights than did Trump and shows no signs of going easy on China on this account.

Wang's strident statements echoed remarks made by Premier Li Keqiang at the opening of the NPC on March 5. Li said China will deter any move towards independence by Taiwan.

"We will remain highly vigilant against and resolutely deter any separatist activity seeking Taiwan independence," said Li.

He affirmed the mainland will continue strategies aimed at unification with Taiwan. Li warned the communist regime remains vigilant and will resolutely combat "separatist activities" fighting for Taiwan's independence.
