Kate Middleton doesn't want any controversy, and she is "terrified" of putting the wrong foot or making a misstep; thus, her public image may be often seen as "boring" for royal watchers.

According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Kate is careful not to generate a public backlash, and because she has hardly any controversies, some royal fans think that she doesn't have an interesting personality. The Duchess of Cambridge has tried hard not to toe the line in her nearly 10 years as a working royal.

Kate became a working royal officially when she married Prince William in 2011. However, she has been preparing for her future role years before, when she became William's girlfriend since 2003.

As with any royal family member, the Duchess of Cambridge has had her share of bad press and was also insulted by the media when William seemed to take his time in proposing marriage to her. The criticisms from the public today have been amplified in the age of social media, according to royal expert Dickie Arbiter. The royals have to exercise more care and concern about what they do and say because it could 'quicky go viral."

Thus, royal expert Camilla Tominey believes that Kate will not air her side on the controversial story of her rift with sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, over the flower dresses on her wedding day. The Duchess of Sussex corrected this report, which originally came out in 2018, during her interview with Oprah Winfrey this weekend.

Meghan said that it was Kate who made her cry because of their misunderstanding and that members of the royal family knew the whole story. However, she was surprised that the opposite came out in the press.

Tominey, who broke the story, has stood by the details despite Meghan saying that it was reported the other way around. The royal expert said that she still gets confirmation texts from her sources inside the palace that she got the details right.

Tominey said that Kate will never do a sit-down interview like the Sussexes because they practice the royal mantra to "never complain, never explain." To her mind, Tominey said that Meghan might not have known that Kate also cried because of their rift.

Meanwhile, a source said that William and Kate are in "total shock" after the interview aired. The source suggested that the Cambridges did not know the extent of the struggles the Sussexes felt and that they "feel horrible" about the revelations, especially regarding Archie's skin color.
