Soyou previously shared her interest in the American show Fit to Fat to Fit. In one of her uploaded videos on YouTube, she explained that she always wanted to try it on her own. Reports said that the show follows personal trainers who purposely gain significant weight and eventually lose them all, alongside their clients.

After convincing herself to do the challenge, she decided to do her own version. Amid the pandemic lockdown, she tried to do a lot of things to gain 10 kg.

Koreaboo reported that the former SISTAR member recently shared an update on her channel regarding the diet. In her video, she shared that weight gain has provided her with several benefits, which she described as "unexpected."

Soyou began that the first benefit was she was able to eat and "indulge" in any food that she liked. She even noted that it made her "happy" to be able to do it.

She continued that it, also, helped her get a good sleep. As stated, she always had a hard time falling asleep in the past.

The 29-year-old South Korean celebrity, then, said that gaining weight helped her chest as they "got bigger." She, later on, claimed to have second thoughts about losing all the weight she obtained because she wanted to maintain the size of her chest.

Despite all the advantages, though, Soyou emphasized that gaining weight, also, has disadvantages. She revealed about her feeling "lethargic," as well as her "not being able to fit into most of her clothes."

In the end, she decided to stick to the challenge and lose all the weight she gained in previous weeks. She has yet to post an update, though, regarding her diet. But, KpopStarz said that she shared a few tips and details on how she would do it.

Soyou stated that planning is important before going on a diet. Moreover, it is essential to "stay healthy" while doing it.

She, also, pointed out that eating three meals a day is a must. If one is having difficulties when it comes to eating breakfast, she suggested replacing it with protein food.

In the past, though, Soyou took a different approach on her diet, especially when she prepared for her swimsuit photoshoot for ELLE Korea. A separate report from Koreaboo released the details of the diet, which the celebrity revealed through an episode of SoyouxHani's Beauty View.

She said that she followed an "insane" diet, causing her to lose 8 kg in a month. It is not safe, though, because it is a drastic method, and appears to be quite unhealthy.

Soyou shared that she only ate the whites of four quail eggs and a half cup of milk. This was her only meal for a day for over a month.
