Prince Harry has a new title as the chief impact officer of the Silicon Valley start-up BetterUp. The company confirmed that the Duke of Sussex has joined their billion-dollar operations, and Harry himself said that he's "really excited" to take on the role.

According to CNN, BetterUp provides mental health coaching services to various companies around the world, and Harry's name and photo is already up on its Leadership Team. The listing on the official website describes Queen Elizabeth's grandson as a "humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate, and environmentalist."

Harry is expected to come up with strategies that will advocate for mental health and boost the company's ties to charities. BetterUp CEO Alexi Robichaux said that the prince's role is "meaningful and meaty," but he refuses to inform Wall Street Journal, which broke the story of Harry's new job, of the duke's salary range.

In a blog post, Prince Harry wrote that he's really excited to be part of a company whose CEO has the same vision as his. He said he would use his military training to "transform pain into purpose" in his new job. His goal as the chief impact officer is to uplift conversations around mental health to empower people and build compassionate communities.

BetterUp, which launched in 2013, stated on its website that they have over 2,000 coaches with a background in behavioral science, as well as strategists, talent managers, and consumer product experts in 66 countries. They also help companies keep track of their employees' progress with real-time analytics and data.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, as well as their staff on their Archewell foundation, have access to the coaches at BetterUp. The duke said that his collaboration with his own BetterUp coach has been an invaluable factor in his life.

The announcement comes as Harry told Oprah Winfrey in an interview that he felt ashamed and couldn't come to his family to open up about his wife's mental struggles. Meghan claimed that life in the palace made her suicidal because of the isolation as she was not allowed to be out too much as the press kept track of her every move. She said that there was a time when she stayed just inside the palace for four months.

The couple claimed they did not get the support they needed from the institution. The Duke of Sussex also revealed that his father, Prince Charles, cut him off financially when he moved to California with Meghan in March 2020.
