While fans and followers await the confirmation of the second season renewal, heads and executives released an announcement for Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie instead. As it happened, they confirmed the feature-length film of the manga and anime series on the same day.
Anime News Network released a report on the matter, detailing all the publicized information about the movie. As noted, it utilizes the prequel, Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, as its source material.
MAPPA will do the animation of the upcoming film, as the studio did for the anime series. As for the distribution, TOHO will spearhead the process.
The announcement, also, teased that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie will premiere this winter. However, it remains undisclosed when exactly it will reach the local and international screens come the season.
Although the details are scarce, Polygon said that the confirmation of the film came with a 30-second trailer. Based on the teaser material, it appears that some of the characters from the main storyline will be in the movie.
This, then, seemingly led many individuals to speculate that the feature-length film will focus only on the plot of the prequel, considering that it is the base source material. As fans would recall, the storyline revolves around some of the students of Jujutsu High, alongside a few new faces, like Yuta Okkotsu.
Accordingly, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie may give the fans and viewers backstories, as well, of some significant characters. These may, reportedly, include Satoru Gojo and Panda.
