An uncle of Kate Middleton does not believe Meghan Markle's claims over their rift, saying it was not in his niece's nature to make someone cry.

Gary Goldsmith, the younger brother of Carole Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge's mother, said that Markle "knows how to manipulate her audience" because she's an actress. Speaking with Daily Mail, Goldsmith said that he doesn't buy Markle's claims because his niece "doesn't have a mean bone in her body."

The uncle added that Kate is a "spectacular" person who is even lovelier on the inside. If anything, Goldsmith believes that his niece would be trying to make peace with her sister-in-law than making her cry.

In Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, she claimed that the tabloids got it all wrong when it was reported that she made Kate Middleton cry over the bridesmaid dresses during her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. She said that what happened was the opposite and she had wanted this report corrected as soon as it came out. Meghan claimed that the Palace refused to do it because royal aides like to perpetuate the hero vs. villain narrative between her and her sister-in-law.

But this was not the first time Goldsmith spoke out against Prince Harry and his wife. In October 2020, he wrote in a now-deleted post on LinkedIn that he wished the couple with stop craving for attention when there's so much going on in the world.

Goldsmith also blasted Harry and said he has lost the love and respect of the British people. His rant came after Harry said during a video conference call that he was not truly aware of structural racism in the institution he grew up in but had an "awakening" of the depth of its impact when he married Meghan.

The uncle also questioned how Harry dealt with Meghan’s mental health crisis while she was living in the palace, as she relayed to Winfrey. Goldsmith said that Harry has access to mental health experts as the face of a mental health charity and as a former senior military officer who had experience in a war zone. He believes that the Duke of Sussex was in the best position to give his wife professional support because it's within his reach.

Meanwhile, Goldsmith will share his insights about the upcoming documentary covering the 10th wedding anniversary of Prince William and Kate Middleton in April. According to reports, it will be an inside story into what went on behind the scenes of the "ritual and pageantry" of the royal wedding.
