The Walking Dead season 10 episode 22 is going to be the last one of the bonus episodes of the post-apocalyptic horror drama. The original season 10 finale, "A Certain Doom," was released in October 2020. However, AMC later announced that six more episodes were added in the current installment.
The Walking Dead season 10 episode 22 will focus on Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), particularly his origin story. The character was one of the major adversaries in the early run of the series before eventually joining other Survivors and be one of them.
The upcoming episode may see more of Negan's past and how he lived his life at the time when he was still considered as an antagonist. But, although he repented to some of his sins, other Survivors couldn't accept that he's part of the group -- particularly Maggie (Lauren Cohan).
According to the synopsis of The Walking Dead season 10 episode 22, Carol (Melissa McBride) will be taking Negan on a journey when Maggie returns to Alexandria. The biggest problem here is that the latter is still holding grudge against him since he's the one who killed her husband, Glen (Steven Yeun).
Carol is aware that Maggie wanted to get back on Negan and she would not accept the fact that the former antagonist is now one of them. Hence, she decided to take him somewhere else, hoping that the tension between the two will not ignite further.
While on their journey, Negan was able to have time to self-reflect and he must decide on his plans for his future. The Walking Dead season 10 episode 22 will see the character thinking about all the bad things he has done in the past and the people he hurt.
Some of Negan's actions were beyond redemption, but he proved himself to everyone and played an essential part during the Whisperer War. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that Maggie will forgive him for killing her husband, especially since she seemingly wants to get revenge.
Negan is thinking about what lies ahead for him in the future, suggesting he might be departing from the group to avoid more conflict. Yet, other members may try to talk to Maggie and explained everything. The story may also leave a cliffhanger leading to season 11, which serves as the final one for the series.
The Walking Dead season 10 episode 22 is titled "Here's Negan" and it will air on Sunday, April 4, on AMC.
