The second trailer of the upcoming Disney movie Cruella has been unveiled recently, which further dives into the origin of Emma Stone's villainous titular character. The latest clip focused on the early days of Estella before becoming the wicked Cruella de Vil, the major antagonist in the film 101 Dalmatians.

Cruella follows the early days of the aspiring fashion designer Estella. The latest trailer showed Thompson's nefarious Baroness von Hellman playing a huge role in why Stone's character became evil and obsessed with dogs, most specifically with Dalmatians.

Baroness von Hellman is the head of the prestigious fashion house where Estella works. She has shown her cold attitude towards the latter, causing her to become her major rival later on in the movie. As seen in the clip, Cruella de Vil arrived at the dinner party and caused massive chaos.

It was also revealed that the Baroness is a proud owner of Dalmatians, which is one of the major reasons why Estella kidnapped them. The upcoming Cruella is a definite reference to the titular character's role in 101 Dalmatians and why she got obsessed with them.

However, some, reportedly, criticized the role of the Baroness in the film as she might've "humanized" Stone's character. Yet, the movie is said to show that both Thompson's character and Estella are on the wrong side and won't justify the latter's evildoings just because she has a nemesis.

The first trailer of Cruella also has a darker tone, showing the titular character causing chaos in the city. Determined to climb to the top, Estella will befriend two young thieves, Jasper Badun (Joel Fry) and Horace Badun (Paul Walter Hauser). The trio will build a life for themselves in London streets.

Other cast members include Emily Beecham as Catherine, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Anita, Mark Strong as John, Jamie Demetriou as Gerald, and John McCrea as Artie. The movie is directed by Craig Gillespie and screenplay by Tony McNamara and Dana Fox.

Meanwhile, the movie gets a PG-13 rating due to "some violence and thematic elements." This is a rare move for Disney movies, but this isn't the first time it happened. Pirates of the Caribbean, in particular, was the first movie receiving the same rating back in 2003.

Cruella is scheduled to be released on May 28, 2021. It is one of the many films releasing in both theaters and Premier Access on Disney+. As it is getting closer to its official premiere, Disney will release more details about the film in the coming weeks.
