Prince Harry has arrived in the United Kingdom to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip. Witnesses said that the Duke of Sussex arrived in Heathrow from Los Angeles with a face mask on and he will have to quarantine.
Source said that Prince Harry will temporarily stay at Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace. This was the first house he shared with his wife, Meghan Markle, before their marriage. The couple owns Frogmore Cottage in Windsor but his cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband and baby are currently staying at Frogmore.
It is believed that Harry will undergo a five-day quarantine before he joins his family on Saturday, April 17. The Duke of Sussex flew commercial via British Airways and was driven off Heathrow via the royal family's Range Rover. Police were also on the tarmac when the royal arrived.
Philip died peacefully on Friday, April 9, at Windsor Castle with Queen Elizabeth by his side. Since then, Harry has been in talks with his family to return home but his wife was not advised to join him. Her doctor did not give her clearance to travel since she is heavy with child, according to a source. The couple revealed that their second baby is due in the summer.
The source said that the couple is taking precautions because Meghan miscarried in July 2020. The doctors advised that the stress of traveling and returning to the U.K. could risk losing the baby. The source also said that Meghan has spoken to the queen and offered her sympathies.
It's Harry's first return to the United Kingdom since leaving the royal family in March 2020. The duke has said last year that he would have come back earlier had it not been for the pandemic.
However, Brexit leader Nigel Farage expressed that the British public will not welcome him and Meghan "even for the funeral." The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's popularity in the U.K. has slid to the lowest numbers since their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in early March. While they sat down with the talk show host, Philip was at the hospital and went through heart surgery. The couple, however, said that they have too much respect for the queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
Another source said that Prince Harry regrets that he was not able to see his grandfather for the last time and say goodbye in person. On the day of Philip's passing, Harry and Markle changed the front page of their Archewell website to honor their grandfather.
