Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) current health condition is still in question in Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 13. She has been in an unconscious state through most of the current installment and spent most of her time in the dream beach sequence, where she meets some of the departed characters.

Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 13 will continue to see Meredith on the beach, where she spent most of her time, subconsciously, after being tested positive for COVID-19. There, she came across her a lot of characters who were long dead, including husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey).

In the promo of this week's episode, titled "Good as Hell," Meredith can be seen spending more time with Derek, which causes real concern for the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. They thought that her condition is getting better, but she's not waking up until now.

Over the past few episodes, Meredith's condition is improving. She was taken off a ventilator and even opened her eyes for a brief moment in episode 11. Although these are signs that she's getting better, there hasn't been a clear indication that she's waking up anytime soon.

As seen in the clip of Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 13, she told her late husband that she does not want to leave the beach and she'll stay with him. Meredith admitted that she is "tired," but Derek encouraged her by telling her she's still fighting and a lot of people need her on the other side.

Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) also said that Meredith's x-rays showed remarkable improvements but Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) still questions why she's not waking up until now. It remains uncertain whether Pompeo's character will come back or will stay with her husband.

Yet, Meredith's words likely implied that she decided to stay with Derek on the beach. Even though her late husband insisted she must stay alive, she only told him: "I want you closer." The promo also ended with the two hugging each other as they watch the ocean together.

As for what else is coming in Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 13, Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) will try to convince Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) to let her switch specialties. She seems to be certain with her decision though she knows that the hospital needs more surgeons.

In addition, there is a brewing tension between Link (Chris Carmack) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone). Conflicts arise when he accused her that she's overstepping while he's treating a patient remotely. Winston (Anthony Hill), on the other hand, offered an out-of-the-box idea

Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 13 airs on Thursday, April 22, on ABC.
