Lee Kwang Soo surprised everyone when he announced he would leave SBS's Running Man after 11 years. As the news started to make rounds online, fans began to wish for his future return.

Lee's departure has something to do with the injury he has sustained from his previous accident. As he prioritizes his recuperation, fans are now wishing him well and sending him words of encouragement.

In a series of messages via AllKPop, one fan said the 35-year-old star deserved a Daesang for his more than a decade stay on the show. Some couldn't believe his exit, believing the actor loved the series more than anything else.

Another said they had no reason to laugh anymore now that Lee left Running Man, while someone added the model must have been very disappointed by now. As the show demanded several physical activities, his supporters seemed to understand his decision.

Anyhow, they couldn't deny that he would miss him on the show, especially his series of "back-and-forth" with Yoo Jae Suk. In time, they are all hoping to see him back in the series, calling it his "home away from home."

Lee's agency King Kong by Starship announced on Tuesday, April 27, its talent would be "stepping down" from Running Man. His last recording would be on Monday, May 24, Soompi noted.

The entertainer has been continuously undergoing rehabilitation treatment since he has sustained an injury from his accident earlier this year. Since then, it has been difficult for him to do the production perfectly.

So, after a lengthy talk with the show's member, producers, and the agency, it was decided that Lee would take some time off to recover from his injury. To recall, the Here He Comes alumnus got into a car accident in February, resulting in sustaining a fracture in his right ankle.

He then underwent surgery and took a break from Running Man for about a month at the time. He returned to the show in March.

Now that Lee had decided to leave the variety show, SBS said in a different statement it would not add a new cast member to replace Lee--at least, for a while, per Korea Times.

The network saw how Lee tried his best to film Running Man despite his injury and ongoing rehabilitation therapy, which were both not easy for him to do so. So, they accepted his decision and would continuously support him no matter what.
