HB Entertainment confirmed the news about Shin Sung Rok contracting the coronavirus. On Wednesday, the label said that his second test came positive, adding that he is now at a treatment facility.

The announcement came as a shock among the public, considering that he had just revealed his negative test result on Friday. Despite this, he immediately went into self-isolation in accordance with the mandatory quarantine guidelines.

A few days into his isolation, sources said that he fell ill, pushing him to go for another COVID-19 test, which turned out to be positive. He has now joined several other South Korean celebrities who have tested positive, as well, for coronavirus. These include Kwon Hyuk Soo, Park Se Ri, Byun Jung Soo, and Son Jun Ho.

Soompi reported that Shin Sung Rok took his initial test following his co-star, Son Jun Ho's COVID-19 diagnosis. The two celebrities are working on their stint for the upcoming musical, Dracula.

Outside the musical project, Shin is a fixed cast member of Master in the House. But, the publication said that the rest of the cast and production will continue their filming processes.

This comes after an insider clarified that the actor "came into contact with the confirmed case after" his work for Master in the House. Accordingly, no one from the set had direct contact with him.

The case is different, however, on the set and production of Dracula. Following Son Jun Ho's COVID-19 contraction last week, all cast and crew members immediately underwent testing and observed self-isolation.

All tests came negative until Wednesday when HB Entertainment released a statement regarding Shin Sung Rok's case. The following day, Korea JoongAng Daily reported that another actor from the set has, also, tested positive for COVID-19.

Big Boss Entertainment confirmed the news, noting that it was actor Jeon Dong Suk, who works opposite Shin Sung Rok and Son Jun Ho. He, also, had himself retested amid his quarantine because he, reportedly, noticed the decline of his health condition.

The production company behind the music Dracula immediately released a statement regarding the matter. As stated, a total of four individuals have tested positive for the virus. Although OD Company did not reveal the identity of the fourth individual, it is said that they are all now in community treatment centers.

Meanwhile, Jeon Dong Suk's co-stars and other colleagues on the set of the musical, Phantom, had already undergone COVID-19 retests. Reports confirmed that none of them have been diagnosed with the coronavirus except for Jeon.
