It has been about two years since Red Velvet drops their last single, "Psycho," making fans wonder when the girl group will officially return. By the looks of it, Irene, Wendy, Seulgi, Joy and Yeri are now gearing for an official comeback and there are pieces of evidence to prove it.
Fans are now eager to know when they will officially see Red Velvet performing on stage with their new music. Per the "Psycho" producer Drew Scott, it looks like it will happen in no time.
According to Koreaboo, Scott has a great relationship with the ReVeluv fandom, so he is pretty open to talking to them on social media. So when he starts chatting with fans on Twitter, they never let the chance to ask him about the girls' new project.
After he proudly shares that "Psycho" has already sold 13 million units worldwide, one fan told him to tell SM Entertainment to give Red Velvet a June comeback.
Another fan suggested it could be in July. From here, Scott replied with a cryptic post, saying "July" with a devil emoji.
Does this mean Irene, Wendy, Seulgi, Joy and Yeri will officially return in July? It looks it will after he made another tweet, saying "July 2021."
In addition, Yeri also seems to tease their official return in her latest Instagram live stream, Meaww noted. As she revealed her plans this year, she said she would plan for the comeback schedule after doing her new K-drama.
She also gladly answered fans' questions, including Red Velvet's return. One fan asked her to touch her nose if the group is already preparing for a comeback, which she promptly obeyed.
Yeri quickly touched her nose, which hinted that a comeback is now underway. Lastly, Seulgi's new look also seems to indicate their return.
The 27-year-old singer-dancer launched her new bangs, which ReVeluv quickly made trending online, per Korea Portal. It even reached the top ten spot on Twitter's worldwide trending ranks just a few hours after posting.
It has been Seulgi's iconic style to have bangs, but it has been K-pop idols' usual practice to change their hairstyles when a comeback is about to happen. There are rumors Red Velvet is about to disband, but with these hints of return, it looks like it will never happen at all.
So, it seems the girls are indeed preparing for an official return, and it is only a matter of time when it will happen.
