The Flash season 7 will be the last installment for the two original cast members of the superhero drama. Recently, it was confirmed that Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh are leaving the series once the story of the current run wraps up some time this year on The CW.

Valdes has been playing the role of Cisco Ramos ever since the series debuted on the network. His character is a mechanical engineer genius and a former metahuman who could travel across the multiverse. His final appearance would be on the last episode of The Flash season 7.

Prior to the announcement about his exit, there have already been speculations that Valdes is leaving the superhero drama. This started when Chester R. Punk (Brandon McKnight) was introduced in season 6, with some believing he could a potential replacement of Cisco.

Meanwhile, Cavanagh played Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash and different versions of Harrison Well. The actor was set to exit as a series regular in the previous installment, which he teased in an Instagram post in February 2020. However, that didn't happen as production was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the third episode of The Flash season 7, Cavanagh ended his role as a series regular -- though he still appears as a recurring guest star. The online listings suggest that the character will make an appearance in episodes 9, 10, and a few more.

Meanwhile, in a statement to Deadline, executive producer/showrunner Eric Wallace said that Valdes and Cavanagh have been an integral part of the series ever for seven seasons and they'll be greatly missed. He added that they're "happily keeping the door open for return appearances."

Both actors were two of the remaining six original cast members, along with Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, and Jesse L. Martin as Joe West. The former singed on the already-renewed season 8, while the three were in negotiation to return.

In another report, the next episode of The Flash season 7 is titled "Timeless" and it'll mark the return of Timeless Wells (Cavanagh). As the synopsis notes, Barry turns to the latter after a devastating betrayal and the titular character asked for help.

At the same time, Iris will lead the Team Citizen and they'll be heading down a dangerous path in order to find answers to their questions. Cisco, on the other hand, opened up to Kamilla and he revealed one of his biggest fears to her.

The latest episode of The Flash season 7 is coming on Tuesday, May 11, on The CW.
