Confirmations about the official comeback of Red Velvet remain scarce. But, despite this, fans are in celebration as the members continue to treat them with several music releases as sub-units and solo artists.

Earlier on Wednesday, reports emerged that Joy will soon make a debut as a soloist. As the talks about the matter continued to develop, speculations persisted to arise, as well.

AllKpop said that the track collection will, reportedly, feature "a medley of remake tracks." This is a "signature" of Joy as she is known for these kinds of music.

A few hours later, though, SM Entertainment confirmed all the reports about the Red Velvet's member's solo activities. Soompi said that a source from the label told Newsen that "Joy is preparing to release a remake album."

Despite the official announcement, though, no details have been shared about the upcoming track collection. Nevertheless, the spokesperson pointed out that more information about the "detailed plans" will emerge soon.

Reports, then, continued that the upcoming album will serve as the K-Pop idol's first venture as a solo artist outside her group since their debut in 2014. This will, also, make her the second member of Red Velvet to drop a solo track collection, next to Wendy.

As fans would recall, Wendy became the first member of the all-female K-Pop band to embark on solo activities in the music space. She made her debut earlier in April with her two-track album, Like Water.

Bandwagon previously reported that this has become the K-Pop idol's first official activity in the world of K-Pop after her hiatus in 2019. This explains why she directly assured her fans and followers that she would work "harder" for her solo venture.

Like Water officially dropped on April 5 after the release of the collection's B-Side tracks. The mini-album features two songs, "Like Water" and "When This Rain Stops." As for the B-Sides, "Best Friend," "The Road," and "Why Can't You Love Me?" all premiered days before the album's release.

Meanwhile, news and information about the complete and official comeback of Red Velvet have yet to emerge before the public. The Korea Portal previously claimed, though, that the five-member group will return to the world of K-Pop later this year.

SM Entertainment's co-CEO Lee Sung Soo, reportedly, assured fans and followers of the group that the five K-Pop idols will return in 2021. As stated, they are preparing an "unnamed album," adding that they will all be "back with a renewed vigor."

While the group maintains its silence about their potential comeback this year, their fandom, Reveluvs, is seemingly positive that this will take place sooner or later, considering that Wendy has now returned.
