The Good Doctor season 4 episode 17 will serve as the penultimate of the medical drama. Next week's episode comes with the title "Letting Go" and it will pick up the emotional stories left in the previous outing. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara) lost their baby.
The Good Doctor season 4 episode 17 will continue what transpired in episode 16. Shaun and Lea have been expecting the arrival of their baby, but the latter's pregnancy has met with some complications, which eventually leads to miscarriage.
Ever since Shaun found out that Lea's pregnancy is at risk, he tried to do whatever he can in order to save his partner and their baby. However, some doctors recognized that his emotions might be too overwhelming for him to join the surgery.
The good thing is that Lea assured him that everything will be fine. Yet, in an unexpected turn of events, her condition worsened. Both of them were excited about the arrival of their baby, but things fell apart when Spara's character suffered a miscarriage.
This is going to be a huge storyline entering The Good Doctor season 4 episode 17. As seen in the promo, Shaun and Lea were in pain after losing their baby. Despite their heartbreak and current situation, the latter told him that they were not the only ones who experienced such things.
Still, it looks like Shaun will have a hard time coping with what happened. The clip showed him going back to work, trying to convince everyone that he's fine. But then, his colleagues were aware of what he's currently dealing with and urged him to go home and be with Lea.
Meanwhile, as for what else viewers can expect, The Good Doctor season 4 episode 17 will also deliver a storyline for Dr. Claire Brown (Antonia Thomas). She is going to make some tough decisions and it involves someone she truly admires.
One of her patients happened to be her idol and she was put in a situation where she could break some rules in the hospital. As the synopsis notes, Claire and the team need to face the hard truths on what lines they're willing to cross just to save the doctor's idol.
The Good Doctor season 4 episode 17 will be airing on Monday, May 17, on ABC.
