GFriend and Source Music surprised the public upon announcing the K-Pop group's exit from the label. As the contract will expire on Saturday, the agency announced that they have both decided to part ways "to continued growth."

The official statement on Tuesday has brought sadness toward many fans and supporters of the all-female act. Following the matter, AllKpop said that the fandom is seemingly curious about the thoughts of the idols regarding their exit.

In response to this, the six personalities wrote personal letters to share their feelings about the news. Each of the K-Pop stars, Sowon, SinB, Yuju, Yerin, Eunha, and Umji bid farewell via their respective notes.

The publication shared copies of each of the letters. Based on the writings, it appears that the members of GFriend paid tribute to their avid fans and supporters, BUDDYs.

They all expressed gratitude and appreciation for all the help and cheers they received from the fandom since their debut in 2015. The members, also, revealed some of the memorable experiences that have assisted them to reach where they are now.

None of the K-Pop idols mentioned anything about disbandment. Instead, they all seemingly assured their fans and followers to be "better" in the future.

GFriend has yet to address the questions, though, regarding their plans in their careers as a group. Accordingly, no confirmations have been made whether they are disbanding or moving forward still as a six-member act in the industry.

South China Morning Post, also, noted that Source Music did not use the word "disband" in their official announcement. However, there are reports claiming that the company, which is now under Hybe Corporation, formerly Big Hit Entertainment, trademarked the name "GFriend." Therefore, if the six K-Pop idols decide to continue their career as a group, they will need to change their name.

The Korea Herald released a similar report covering some of the details about the shocking developments. As stated, the public did not have any idea that GFriend would reach the end of their links with Source Music.

This is, reportedly, in consideration of the members' previous activities on social media, hinting that they are all doing well. Hence, the recent announcement from the label "came as an abrupt surprise" for the fandom.

The K-Pop group last made a music release in November. They dropped their third full album, Walpurgis Night, which houses a total of 11 tracks.

GFriend officially debuted in 2015 with their first extended play record, Season of Glass. It entails the group's hit tracks, "Rough," "Me Gustas Tu," and "Navillera."
