Oprah Winfrey has spoken up against the critics of Prince Harry after he made allegations about the royal family in his recent interviews.

The talk show host said that Harry had the right to speak up and open up on his experiences despite the royal's repeated statements that he wants privacy in his life. The Duke of Sussex has been visible in the media lately because he and Winfrey are promoting their new documentary series, The Me You Can't See, and his critics have been saying he's talking too much about a private matter with his family.

Winfrey said that Prince Harry can share his emotional struggles as a royal, as he has done in the series, but that doesn't mean that his life should be intruded and invaded upon by the press. Winfrey said that this is what people have been missing in the message Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been trying to impart -- that privacy doesn't mean silence.

In speaking about his experiences, Harry said that the royal family failed to acknowledge that he and his wife needed help with their mental health struggles. The Duke of Sussex implied that they were discouraged from seeking mental health therapy.

He also said that it was his wife who encouraged him to seek treatment because they were fighting as a couple. Prince Harry said in the documentary that he "reverted back to 12-year-old Harry" when he had to resolve his arguments with his then-girlfriend, Markle, who told him he needs therapy.

But Harry's former biographer, Angela Levin, recalled a conversation he had with him in 2017, where he told her that it was his brother Prince William who said he has to get into therapy. At that time, Harry said that he didn't listen to his brother in the beginning but he eventually did seek professional help.

Levin spoke of this conversation with Harry on Good Morning Britain, after the Duke of Sussex's revelations about his struggles in a podcast series with Dax Shepard. Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl also said that Harry has been erasing the role of his brother and his father, Prince Charles, who also helped him get his act together when he did drugs to cope with his mother's death.

Meanwhile, Winfrey continues his praises for Harry and said that he would always come to their Zoom meetings for the docuseries very prepared. Prince Harry also took notes and turned over these notes immediately, which showed Winfrey that the royal has been dedicated to doing this mental health series.
