Fans last saw So Ji Sub on small screens in 2018. After his stint on the film, Be With You opposite Son Ye Jin, he starred in his winning role for My Secret Terrius.

Although he made several films years after, the actor has seemingly since stepped back from K-Drama series and shows. But, insiders recently claimed that he may be making a comeback soon, according to AllKpop.

As explained, sources told reports that he will take on the lead role in the new drama, Dr. Lawyer. However, the South Korean star has yet to make a confirmation regarding the latest speculations.

The drama insiders continued, though, that the producers and heads offered So Ji Sub the role of Han Yi Han. The series follows the story of the character, who is a "genius medical surgeon."

He loses everything due to surgical manipulation. But, he, later on, finds his way back and becomes a medical lawyer.

In his new career, he works "towards punishing the wrong individuals who believe they have the power to select lives as more valuable than others." He receives the help of a prosecutor, as well, who specializes in medical malpractices.

Following the released synopsis, many are now, reportedly, deeming Dr. Lawyer as a "refreshing and comforting drama." As for its release date, though, it will likely air in mid-2022.

There are, also, reports stating that the production is still in talks with MBC for a collaboration. In the end, this will mark So Ji Sub's return to small screens after three years.

The actor's latest works have centered on films and big screens. Amid the pandemic, he, alongside the production and cast, wrapped up their thriller film, Confession. Days after the completion, reports revealed that he joined the cast of Choi Dong-hoon's upcoming sci-fi crime action film.

Earlier in April 2020, fans and followers witnessed another milestone in So Ji Sub's life. As it happened, he announced his private wedding to his then-girlfriend Jo Eun Jung. He took his surprising news to social media after penning a letter to his fans.

The 43-year-old actor acknowledged that his announcement came as a shock to many of his fans. But, he assured them that it was one of the "most important decisions" of his life, noting, though, that it did take him too long.

He, also, asked everyone for support as he had become the "head of a household." In the end, however, he said that he had a "heavy heart" because his announcement came amid the pandemic. Nevertheless, he encouraged everyone to stay healthy.
