Roger Waters reveals Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg offers him a huge amount of money to use Pink Floyd's classic hit "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" in an Instagram ad. The iconic rock band's co-founder proudly turns down the media magnate's request and hits him with a series of tirades.

At the recent pro-Julian Assange event, Walters talks about the letter he claims he receives from Zuckerberg.

"It arrived this morning, with an offer for a huge, huge amount of money," he says, according to The New York Post. "And the answer is, 'F-k you. No f-in' way.'"

Walters explains he only says about the offer because he sees it as an "insidious movement" that wants to "take over absolutely everything." Despite the prevalent use and fame of Facebook today, he clearly states he does not want to be part of what he calls "bulls-t" and seems to be directly speaking to Zuckerberg.

He believes Facebook sees the song's core meaning, which is about calling out the institution like formal education, has remained important until today. With this, it just shows "how timeless the work is."

Walters reveals that the social media giant may have wanted to use the song to make it and Instgaram more powerful than it already is, which he does not want to allow.

This is not the first time Walters disagrees to use Pink Floyd's songs as promotional material. However, back in the mid-'70s, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer seemed to did not mind using their track for a Dole bananas theme song and an ad for the French soft drink Gini.

Anyhow, the 77-year-old composer appeared to have a good reason for it. The promotion helped to make the "rising concert ticket prices" more affordable for their fans.

The experience, however, made the band refuse the use of their music in any advertisements in the future unless it was for a "good cause."

Meanwhile, Walters also touched on Zuckerberg's old website, FaceMash, which he built in 2003 to rate the women's look at Harvard University, Market Watch noted.

He questions how someone who is rating women based on their looks has an incredible degree of influence and power today. He even calls him "one of the most powerful idiots in the world."

Reps from Facebook and Instagram are yet to give their comments about Walters' words as of this writing.
