Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection has reported two new imported Covid-19 cases Wednesday, taking the city's total tally to 11,923.

A total of 41 infections were reported in the financial district in the past two weeks, including 39 imported cases and two import-related infections, Xinhua News Agency said, citing the CHP.

In China, the government has vowed to reach immunization coverage of 40% by the end of June. The country has administered a record 1.2 billion doses, China's health officials said Tuesday.

"We have already attained over half of this huge task. I think we will succeed in building herd humanity for the China nation," Shao Yiming, chief expert at the Chinese Center for Disease Control, said in quotes by CGTN.

In the Philippines, the government's pandemic task force has imposed new quarantine rules for fully inoculated people entering the country from other selected nations.

Presidential representative Harry Roque said inbound travelers who are fully immunized in the Philippines or other countries will now be required to undergo a seven-day quarantine upon arrival.

In Vietnam, health authorities confirmed 95 local patients Tuesday morning in eight municipalities and over half in Ho Chi Minh City.

More than two months into the new Covid-19 wave, Vietnam has tallied 12,788 local cases in 48 of its 63 cities and provinces.

Over in Thailand, the government said Japan will donate 1 million shots of AstraZeneca vaccine, with shipment scheduled early next week.

The Thailand cabinet Tuesday approved the signing of an exchange letter for the vaccine delivery, deputy government representative Ratchada Dhanadirek said.

In Singapore, officials have laid out a new "vision for life to return to normal." The roadmap, proposed by three members of Singapore's pandemic task force, would ditch lockdowns and mass contact tracing and allow for a return to isolation-free travel.

The proposal will also allow the resumption of large social gatherings and stop count of the daily cases, CNN said.

"The bad news is that Covid-19 may never go away. The good news is that it is possible to live normally with it in our midst," Singapore's top officials said.

In Indonesia, authorities are formulating more rigid measures to contain a second wave, a health ministry representative said, as he called on the public to stay calm in the wake of speculation over a possible lockdown.

As of Wednesday morning, Indonesia recorded 2.2 million infections and 58,024 fatalities, Channel News Asia said.

Meanwhile, in Australia, authorities extended lockdown and social distancing measures Wednesday, with four major cities already under a strict lockdown to contain an outbreak of the Delta variant.

Queensland reported three new local infections, Western Australia recorded one and the Northern Territory recorded none, Reuters said.

Globally, there are currently 182 million cases of the virus, and 3.94 million people have died from the disease.
