"Jujutsu Kaisen" kept its promise to surprise fans by releasing a new trailer for "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" movie. The franchise launched a six-hour countdown and after it ended, it gave a new look to the film's characters.
Although the preview is relatively short, it cannot be denied that it contains a lot of "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" goodness. As expected, it shows more of Yuta and Rika and their duo that fans are about to see.
According to Comicbook, the clip shows Yuta in action and his powers and abilities. Of course, there is Rika, who adds some sweetness to the scene.
Yuta is carrying a sword - featuring the incredible animation of MAPPA. The video hints at Yuta's story and the young girl, Rika, a girl from his past who continuously haunts him.
The clip also reveals "Neon Genesis Evangelion" voice actor Megumi Ogata will be Yuta's voice in Japanese, Polygon noted. Aside from these two characters, the movie will also follow other characters in the series who fans will find familiar from the main series.
The film will dive into the backstory of Satoru Gojo. He is the series breakout star and fans are about to know more of him.
So far, the fandom has nothing but good praise for the movie's design, especially Yuta's graphics. Though this character is not that famous among anime fans, manga readers know him too well.
Yuta has one of the most interesting arcs in the franchise and his relationship with Yuji is an exciting sight. Meanwhile, before the "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" preview drops, the franchise first teased a mysterious six-hour countdown.
The anime then confirmed a new update would be released about the movie when the time ran out. True to its words, it was what exactly happened.
The countdown began at 5 a.m. Eastern/4 a.m. Central. It ended at 10 a.m. CST and it was worth all the wait for many.
So far, after the anime's first season ended, a new movie had been announced. There are no words yet about its second season, though it may likely come after the film's release.
Season 1 began in late 2020 and concluded in the winter 2021 season. As the movie will be released later this year, there is a big possibility Season 2 may arrive in 2022-though MAPPA has yet to make an official announcement.
"Jujutsu Kaisen 0" will be released Dec. 24 in Japan. Its international release is yet to be announced.
