Kris Wu is now, allegedly, inside a detention facility due to the sexual allegations made against him. As he is now waiting for his investigation, rumors have it that he has committed suicide.

A Chinese media outlet revealed a photo featuring Wu inside an alleged detention center. The 30-year-old star is, reportedly, being held amid the investigation of the sexual assault charges filed against him.

An Weibo user claimed Wu could not handle being in the detention center, so he attempted to take his own life. Another netizen, then, shared the Weibo post on Twitter and called it "Breaking News," which resulted in a debate among critics and fans.

The said tweet has been since deleted after being re-tweeted a thousand times. While some believe that it is possible that Kris Wu attempted to take his own life with all the quandaries he is facing now, others suggested that everything should be taken with a grain of salt since nothing is confirmed yet.

Moreover, there is no evidence to prove the apparent suicide. Twitter user Yanliao called the news "fake" and cited the Criminal Procedure Law, which states criminal detention is made to prevent detained individuals from committing suicide.

The person who shared the news on Twitter explained that he deleted the tweet to avoid further confusion. He also stressed that the rumors are not confirmed and emphasized the word "apparently" in his tweet.

Today Online noted Wu was arrested on July 31 for suspicions of rape. In a series of posts last month, influencer Du Meizhu accused the hitmaker of preying on young fans.

Twenty-four women, then, stepped forward and made the same allegations against the former EXO member. As the investigation begins, the digital forensic team unearthed deleted messages between Kris and his friends.

One of the messages is a video of an unconscious young girl being dragged into a hotel room, where Wu, allegedly, raped her. The victim, who is said to be a fan of the singer-actor, was, reportedly, only 13 years old.

Some of the charges made against Wu are unauthorized sexual act filming, bribery, gang rape, date rape and drug abuse. Multiple reports claimed the performer used a new type of drug called "guai guai shui" or "obedient water" in English.

Meanwhile, Chinese lawyers have now weighed in on the possible sentences Wu would receive if found guilty.

Though he is a Canadian citizen, it will be of no use on any form of leniency as crimes committed in China should be persecuted under Chinese law. He may serve a three to 10-year jail sentence, a life imprisonment or, worse, a death sentence.
