Fans will finally see what will happen next to Guts and the Band of the Hawk in "Berserk" Chapter 364, eight months after Chapter 363's release. As this is the late Kentaro Miura's last drawn pages, does this mean it will be the end of the 32-year-old manga?
Young Animal is yet to confirm the future of the fan-favorite manga series after the death of its creator in May. So, will "Berserk" Chapter 364 be its last?
Twitter user Manga Mogura RE drops the preview of the upcoming installment and hints at the end of the series. "From ryokutya's commentary on 'Berserk' chapter 364, it looks like this chapter is the last in the series," it reads, via Comicbook.
According to Dual Shockers, though Chapter 364 is said to be the last chapter Miura worked on, it was completed by his assistants at Studio Gaga. So, there are theories that the manga editorial wants to continue the series, believing it will be the same thing the mangaka wants if he is still alive.
Of course, this gives fans hope to continue seeing Guts, Griffith, Casca and the rest of the gang's story, as they, too, wonder what will be the future of the series. However, Young Animal seems to be undecided yet about the manga's continuation.
So, although Miura's assistants want to continue working on the series, it is still up to its publisher and studio. By the looks of it, fans still have to wait for the official announcement of Studio Gaga to know the future of "Berserk."
Meanwhile, aside from "Berserk" Chapter 364, fans will also be treated with the release of the manga's Volume 41, per Hype Beast. It will be the first volume that will be out in three years and it will be published in both regular and special editions.
It will feature a canvas artwork made by Miura himself, coupled with a drama visual CD. In addition, there will be "Berserk" art exhibit that will take place in Tokyo's Sunshine City.
The event will use the artwork as its main key visual. Alternatively, the CD will feature the manga's main chapter, "Awakening," as the anime's cast returns in a segment that has never been adapted in any form before.
To treat the fans some more, Young Anime will release "Berserk" Chapter 364 with a full-color opening page this month. It will also be accompanied with a "Messages to Kentarou Miura" booklet and poster to honor the life and contribution of the great manga artist.
