The first season of Takemich's story has officially come to an end, making fans wonder if there will be "Tokyo Revengers" Season 2. With the success of the anime and manga, it seems like there is enough evidence for the series' return.

The anime's first season ends with a major cliffhanger, so it is not impossible that there will be "Tokyo Revengers" Season 2. There are even leakers who claim it is now in development, though nothing is confirmed yet. So, will it happen?

According to Monsters and Critics, it is highly likely that the anime will be renewed due to the franchise's success. Thanks to the anime, its manga sales have skyrocketed.

In March 2021, there were only 8.5 million copies of manga in circulation and it rose to an incredible level when it reached 14.5 million copies in just one month. Come May 2021, it started to dominate the Oricon sales chart with 2,702,408 copies sold.

It was even higher compared to Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan's respective sales. By the end of May, it already reached 15 million copies in circulation that went up to 17 million a week later, per the franchise's post on Twitter.

In June, it already sold 20 million copies and by mid-August, Tokyo Revengers became the best-selling Kodansha manga. In just a year, it sold more than 16.5 million copies, surpassing the success of Attack on Titan with almost 16 million copies in circulation in 2013.

With these numbers, anime news leaker ChifuyuMatsuno claimed Tokyo Revengers Season 2 was already in development. However, as there was no evidence to support the claim, fans were advised to take it with a grain of salt.

LIDENFILMS may have found gold with this title that, despite a big success, only has so little production. "There won't be official data so soon, the post read. "But you can take it for granted."

So, what will happen in the second season? Recent Highlights noted it might cover the Black Dragon arc in the beginning.

Takemichi has already returned to the future, while the Tokyo Manji Gang makes a comeback into a crime syndicate. As the protagonist returns to the past, he has to help Hakkai Shiba to defeat his brother, Taiju Shiba, the Black Dragon Gang leader.

Sadly, Takemichi will not get the help of Toman this time, so he has to work on his own in "Tokyo Revengers" Season 2. Can Takemichi make it?
