"Lupin the Third: Part Six" Episode 1 will formally introduce Sherlock Holmes as part of the series. The classic anime has officially returned and the recently-dropped Episode 0 seems to be a refresher of what fans have missed.
"Lupin the Third: Part Six" Episode 1 will be titled "Enter Sherlock Holmes." As the title alludes, the world's No. 1 detective will be making his way to meet the group of thieves led by Lupin.
It will be a story like no other when Sherlock and Lupin meet. It has been teased time and over again that these two will go head-to-head in the anime's 50th anniversary.
Will Lupin and his crew manage to outsmart a genius detective like Sherlock? Knowing the consulting detective has yet to fail in any of his investigations, it looks like Lupin is about to face his equal.
However, as these two notable characters are known for being the protagonists of their own stories, Lupin may do something worse that will make Sherlock his enemy, Epic Dope noted. So, why will he chase them?
That is the question the series will answer in "Lupin the Third: Part Six" Episode 1 forward. Meanwhile, "Lupin the Third: Part Six" Episode 0 seemed to be a tribute to Kiyoshi Kobayashi.
The 88-year-old actor will be retiring as the voice of Daisuke Jigen. He has been playing this role since the film's pilot in 1969.
In the premiere episode, the trio found themselves in prison after Fujiko playfully abandoned them. Anyhow, as they seemed to be used to it, they later escaped the jail and enjoyed their profits.
"Lupin the Third: Part Six" would take fans to another adventure of the famous thief, Lupin, the famed French legend Arsène Lupin III's descendent, per The Gamer. He had his eyes on a treasure that the mysterious organization Raven also longed to have.
So, to get Lupin out of its way, the group would control the British government and even unleash Scotland Yard, MI6, and Sherlock himself. But with the help of his best friend and expert marksman Daisuke Jigen, along with the samurai Goemon Ishikawa XIII and the femme fatale Fujiko Mine, could they control this group from getting what they wanted?
Elsewhere, in celebration of the franchise's 50th anniversary, TMS Entertainment and Sentai will hold a world premiere of its latest season and its first-ever English dub. A three-episode run of "Lupin the Third" will hit select theaters across the U.S. from Oct. 22 to Oct. 28.
It looks like the series has a lot to offer this time to thank fans for their continuous support. "Lupin the Third: Part Six" Episode 1 will be out on Sunday, Oct. 17.
