Netflix has officially announced the five cast members of the upcoming "One Piece" live-action series. The streaming network is now piecing the new show together during its recent event in Japan, revealing more details about the much-awaited series.

The "One Piece" creator himself, Eiichiro Oda, will be working with Netflix and Tomorrow Studios to give fans a different experience in a live-action version of Luffy's adventure. Though it had already begun its production last summer, many details about it remain under wraps.

Comicbook noted this project had been shrouded by mystery, as no one knows what will happen in the series. However, it has been known that it has ten-episode order and adapt the East Blue saga from Oda's original manga.

It will also feature the cast that will be led by Iñaki Godoy, who will play the role of Luffy. Mackenyu will also join the show as Zoro, along with Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

As expected, this announcement does not only make fans more excited. It also makes the five officially announced cast members celebrate their inclusion in this project.

In a special message for Netflix, Godoy, Mackenyu, Rudd, Romero and Skylar revealed they received a special shirt, inspired by "One Piece," made by Oda himself. It featured the Straw Hat crew, specially made for them.

The franchise's official Twitter handle also welcomed the five as part of the series. Meanwhile, showrunner, writer and producer Steven Maeda, along with fellow writer and executive producer Matt Owens believed they had found the perfect stars to play the roles of the Straw Hat Pirates.

They said they were both excited to see the set sail with their new "amazing and talented cast." Finding the right person to perfectly play the roles was not an easy task, but they managed to see the right people who could pull off the looks of the much-loved pirates.

They, too, could perfectly play their emotions and even imitate the right actions of the iconic Straw Hat Pirates. Maeda and Owens admitted it was a long and challenging road, but they could not deny it was a fun process, comparing it to the hunt for the One Piece treasure itself.

The two added the cast had already begun working hard to bring their respective characters to life. "You will come to know and love them just as much as their manga counterparts," they said.

"All of us can't wait to show you what we've come up with! Onward to adventure!" Anyhow, despite the excitement, no one knows when "One Piece" live-action adventure will officially hit Netflix.
