Kadokawa has officially dropped a new look at "Made in Abyss" Season 2 in a trailer and a poster. After the success of the first season, Riko returns for a new adventure.
The franchise now has a cult following after releasing two compilation movies and an official sequel set after the first season's events. Later, fans received the good news that "Made in Abyss" Season 2 is about to come.
Comicbook noted the second season would officially be called "Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun." The anime has now dropped a brand new trailer and poster to give the viewers a hint at what they may see next.
Aside from Riko, Reg and other fan-favorite characters, the teasers feature the new faces the audience is about to meet. Of course, the lead stars behind Riko, Reg and Nanachi are returning, from Miyu Tomita to Mariya Ise to Shiori Izawa, to reprise their roles.
Misaki Kuno will also join the new season to play the role of Faputa, alongside Yuka Terasaki as Vueko, Hiroaki Hirata as Wazukyan and Mitsuki Saiga as Belaf. In addition, Masayuki Kojima will return to helm "Made in Abyss" Season 2 with Kinema Citrus.
Meanwhile, the trailer features a group looking for an island at sea. After they find the place, the teaser focuses on exploring the new area.
Belaf and Vueko are also seen in a talk, while Faputa makes an appearance at the end of the trailer. The clip, then, ends with Riko and Reg having a relaxing time, per Collider.
"Made in Abyss" is an anime adaptation of the manga with the same name by Akihito Tsukushi. It follows the story of the orphan girl named Riko in the town of Orth.
In the middle of the town, there is a huge mysterious hole known as the Abyss. People go into this hole to explore the mystery surrounding it and find some artifacts and remnants from past civilizations.
Riko wants to be a legendary Cave-Raider, known as the White Whistle, which her mom used to be. She, then, discovers a robot boy in the Abyss and gives him the name of Reg.
Riko believes her mother is at the bottom of the Abyss, so she goes on a journey down the hole with Reg in hopes of seeing her. So, will she finally see her mom in the second season?
There are no words yet on when "Made in Abyss" Season 2 will be out, but it is expected to be released in 2022.
