Meghan Markle remains at the center of the spotlight as controversies continue to loom over her. This is despite leaving her position as an active royal after choosing to live a private life.

Amid all the rumors and accusations, many fans across the globe still show their support toward the couple. However, this is not seemingly enough to make them some of the "most admired" individuals in the world for this year.

Newsweek reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have failed to make it to the 2021's list from YouGov. Although they appear to have a "big audience," it did not earn them a spot on the chart.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have failed, but one member of the British Royal Family made the cut. As noted, Queen Elizabeth II is one of the world's top 20 "most admired women" of the year.

She came in third, seemingly retaining the position she obtained in 2020. She came in next to Angelina Jolie and Michelle Obama, who, also, remained in their second and top spots, respectively.

YouGov said that the study is the result of the survey, involving more than 42,000 individuals. It covered about 38 countries and territories to compile the list.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, meanwhile, topped other charts for 2021. TIME magazine hailed them as some of this year's "Most Influential People."

Under the "Icons" category, they seemingly hold the number 1 spot. However, they were not able to reach the top place in the overall list as the magazine named Elon Musk the "Person of the Year," making him the most influential person of 2021.

Nevertheless, they are the only members of the British Royal Family who made it to the said chart.

In other related news, a royal commentator recently claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will likely receive a gift from the British Royals this Christmas. As asserted, Queen Elizabeth II is "far too gracious to be too childish" not to give one, according to Geo TV.

Neil Sean continued that Prince William and Kate Middleton will, also, send holiday gifts to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. But, while there will be presents, it will reportedly be "very formal," adding that it will be at a distance.

Reports have previously alleged that the Sussex couple, alongside their two children, will remain in the United States to celebrate the holiday season.
