It looks like fans will not only see "Squid Game" Season 2 in the near future, but the third season as well. The series' creator Hwang Gon-hyuk reveals he is now in talks with Netflix about the show's future seasons.

In an interview with KBS in Korea, as translated by Korea Times, Hwang teased that they would soon come up with a conclusion about the forthcoming "Squid Game" Season 2 and Season 3. Does this mean the show will soon be in the works?

Comicbook noted that the streaming giant is known for continuing the most popular programs on its list and the hit thriller will be like no other. In fact, the first season's major cliffhanger in the final episode is enough to prove that its story will continue.

In his talk with Associated Press, Hwang admitted there had been so much pressure with the fans' demand to see the show's second season. With that, the director revealed it almost felt like they had no choice but to do so.

Despite that, he confirmed there would be "Squid Game" Season 2 and its storyline is now in his head. He is now in its planning process and he finds it too early to say when and how things will unfold.

However, Hwang also teased the core plotline of the second season. It will mostly focus on the story of Seong Go-hin (Lee Jung-jae) as he tries to unravel the mysteries of the organization behind the deadly game.

"The overarching plotline of Season 2 will be the story of the people that Gi Hun meets," he said. "And the people he chases after."

In addition, in a virtual panel with E! News, Hwang revealed Seon had learned a lot from the series of games and his experience in the first season. Hence, he will use all of these in a more active manner in the second outing.

He also talked about the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who used to be part of the game and became the winner and eventually the leader of the Masked Men. He compared him to the iconic antagonist Darth Vader, while other game members became the Jedi.

Meanwhile, Netflix addressed the talks about "Squid Game" Season 3, confirming they were discussing the "wide variety" of possibilities for the series, per Soompi. That includes the third season, though nothing has been set in stone yet.
